● Address the Diversity of QLED Technology Standards

The display industry has yet to establish a clear and unified global standard for QLED technology due to significant differences in material applications and technological approaches. Given these below complexities, no single company can or should attempt to define the standards for QLED technology.

(1)Quantum dot materials that have been industrialized globally include cadmium selenide, indium phosphide, and perovskite. Cadmium selenide is widely used in QLED TVs due to its excellent color performance and reliability.

(2)Quantum dot materials are inherently sensitive to light, heat, moisture, and oxygen, requiring encapsulation to enhance their stability. Various encapsulation methods are employed in the industry to address these challenges.

(3)The application and processing of quantum dots varies depending on product scenarios and environmental requirements, resulting in diverse implementation methods.

Regarding the claims by a third-party company in South Korea that cadmium has not been detected in TCL’s QLED TVs, TCL believes that this may be due to the insufficient precision of the detection equipment or to the particular testing methods and testing standards employed, resulting in mistaken conclusions. TCL’s products comply with EU CE certification requirements, RoHS Directive, and other international safety and environmental standards, ensuring they are safe for consumers to use with confidence.
